What We Collect

PlainScape collects minimal data necessary to operate the game:

Patreon Integration

If you authenticate via Patreon to obtain a server key, we receive your Patreon membership status through the Patreon OAuth API. We do not store your Patreon credentials — only the resulting access token, which you provide to your own server.

AI Rule System

When the daily champion submits a rule, the rule text is sent to the Anthropic Claude API for processing and implementation. The rule text and resulting code changes are stored on the server. No personal data beyond the champion's username is included in API requests.

Community Servers

Community-hosted PlainScape servers are operated by third parties. Each server operator controls their own data. PlainScape (the project) is not responsible for data handling on community servers. The server browser at plainscape.world only stores the server name, IP, port, and player count submitted via heartbeat.

Cookies & Local Storage

PlainScape uses browser localStorage to store your player token, username, character colors, and game preferences. No tracking cookies are used. The admin console uses a session cookie for authentication.

Data Retention

Game data is reset weekly. Username reservations expire after 6 weeks of inactivity. Server operators can clear all data at any time via the /freeall command.
